Mountain life, every season
Living at SilverStar year-round
What daily life on the mountain looks like, from groceries to golden fall days.
Home › Living at SilverStar year-round
Plenty of people visit SilverStar for a weekend and start wondering what it would be like to wake up here every day. Here’s an honest look at year-round mountain life, before you get into listings and numbers.
Everyday life on the mountain
- Groceries and liquor at the Lord Aberdeen Market in the village.
- Restaurants, pubs and a bakery within a short walk of most homes. See village life.
- A free shuttle between the village and surrounding neighbourhoods in season.
- A fitness centre and spa for the days you’re not on the hill.
- Fire protection from a regional fire department with a paid-on-call crew.
- Vernon about 20 minutes away for schools, the hospital, big-box stores and lake life.

Four seasons, not one
Winter brings the obvious: 133 runs, 105 km of Nordic trails, skating and night skiing. But locals will tell you summer and fall are the secret. The bike park, 16 km of hiking trails, gondola rides to the summit trails and quiet golden fall days on the pond are a big part of why people stay. See all the trails.
The neighbourhoods
From the slope-side village core to the chalets along the ski-ways and the acreages down Silver Star Road, every pocket of the mountain feels a little different.
- The Village: the colourful core, steps from the lifts and restaurants.
- The Knoll: the hill around Silver Queen and Monashee roads.
- Alpine Meadows
- The Ridge
- Cabin Colony
- Chalet Alley
- Silver Star Road acreages
