Village life at SilverStar

A colourful, walkable village on the slopes: where to eat, what to do and how to get around.

Home › Village life at SilverStar

The heart of SilverStar is a small, walkable village of brightly painted, Victorian-style buildings set right on the slopes at about 1,609 metres. In winter you can ski to lunch, skate on the pond after the lifts close and stroll back to your door. Here’s what’s in it.

Eat and drink

SilverStar’s restaurants range from grab-and-go breakfasts to sit-down dinners. The resort runs several of its own venues, and independent owners run the rest.

Resort-run spots

  • The Red Antler: Canadian food and the mountain’s biggest selection of beer on tap.
  • The Den: an alpine brasserie on the slopes.
  • Paradise Camp: a cozy mid-mountain stop for breakfast and lunch, and the destination for snowcat dinner tours.
  • Town Hall: quick breakfast before first chair.
  • Tube Town Café & Bar: hot drinks and snacks between tubing runs.

Groceries and supplies

The Lord Aberdeen Market is a full grocery and liquor store in the village, with produce, meat and fish, local baked goods and plenty of Okanagan wine. Bigger shops are in Vernon, about 20 minutes down the hill.

Things to do in the village

  • Tube Town: multiple tubing lanes, plus a mini snowmobile track for kids.
  • Night skiing under the lights until 8:30 p.m.; check the resort’s schedule for nights.
  • Elevate Spa for a slower afternoon, and a fitness centre.
  • The Bear Byway scavenger hunt: a family walk with bear sculptures and signs about bear life.
  • Gnome Roam in summer: hunt for hidden SilverStar gnomes.
  • Silver Star Mountain Museum displays in Chilcoot Lodge, Pinnacles Suites and the Vance Creek Hotel, plus the old fire lookout at the top of the gondola in summer.
