In winter, Brewer’s Pond freezes into a 2.5-acre natural rink right in the middle of SilverStar village. You skate a big loop around a little island of snowy spruce, with the colourful village buildings on one side and Tube Town on the other. Families come after the lifts close; locals sneak in a few laps on quiet weekday mornings.
What to know before you go
- Skate rentals are in the Brewer’s Pond Base building, the blue and grey building beside the pond.
- Tickets for skating and tubing are sold at the ticket cabin by Tube Town.
- Included with My1 alpine tickets: the resort’s day and afternoon alpine tickets include skating, and the free tot ticket for kids 5 and under does too.
- Natural ice means the pond opens when the weather allows, so check the resort first.

In summer it’s a different place
When the ice melts, the Pond Loop path around Brewer’s Pond becomes one of the prettiest short walks in the village. It’s home to the Bear Byway sculptures and, in summer, the Gnome Roam.
